Why he does this

The taste from my grandparents

All my life I wanted to find again the real taste of childhood, the one I knew every time I went to the country, to my grandparents. Nothing compared to fruit picked straight off the tree, or vegetables gathered from the garden.

At Grădina lui Raul I set out to bring back that magic of the old tastes. Everything we grow here is raised with care, exactly the way our grandparents did it, no compromises and no chemicals.

— Raul

How it is grown

Organic methods and permaculture, no shortcuts

This is the most important thing in my growing. Everything is grown organically and in permaculture.

— Raul

  • No herbicides, no pesticides

Nothing sprayed on to make it go faster.

  • Only organic fertilisers and bio treatments

The soil is fed, not forced.

  • Animals raised extensively

The hens, chicks and ducks roam free-range.

A cauldron meal isn't made on the fly — it cooks for hours over the fire, on long tables under the trees. If you want to stay and eat, it is arranged ahead of time.
